7 Nights/8 Days
On the first day of the tour, you’ll be driven to Sangla. On the way halt at beautiful towns namely Fagu, Theog, Matiana & Narkanda where you can have delicious lunch. Next on your trip is famous town Sarahan where you can visit revered Hawa Mahal & Kali temple. Continue your journey to Sangla where you’ll have a night stay.
The day is reserved to explore the local places of Sangla. Start your sightseeing with Kamru Fort, which will give you an idea of ancient architecture & legacy. Kamru Fort is now a temple dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya Devi. Next on your trip is Bering Nag Temple, a must-visit place architectural wonder. Continue your sightseeing by visiting Chitkul which is around 20 km from Sangla. Here you can enjoy your lunch at “Hindustan ka Akhiri Dhaba”. Also spend a few hours on the bank of river Baspa where you can get a bit adventurous as well. Night stay is scheduled at Sangla.
On the day 3 of your trip, start your journey to Tabo, a beautiful town on the bank of rive Spiti. While you are on the way to Tabo visit the famous Nako Lake which will fill you with tranquility & gratitude for sure. Also witness the 500-year-old mummy of Sangha Tenzin at Gue. It is believed that the monk started his mummification process while he was alive. Before reaching Tabo, visit the last village of Indo-Tibetan border as well. Upon arrival, check and rest after having dinner.
The most famous attraction of Tabo is a 10th century monastery full of meditative vibes and serenity. This monastery is full of beautiful wall paintings & ancient scrolls & murals. One can easily spend 2-3 hrs simply siting at this silent place. Next on your Spiti Valley tour is Kaza, headquarter of Lahaul & Spiti district. Before reaching Kaza, halt at Dankar Village, which is one of the most spectacular attractions of Spiti valley. Stopover to visit the famous Dhankar Fort, which has been recently added to the list of 100 most endangered sites in the world. Also capture the panoramic view of Dhankar from revered Dhankar Gompa, a 16th century old monastery guarding the village. Afterwards, continue your journey to Kaza. Upon arrival check in to hotel and rest.
Your 5th day of 8 Days Spiti Valley tour will be dedicated to explore Kaza and its surroundings. Today you’ll visit Langza village, famous for a giant Buddha statue overlooking the valley. You’ll also visit Hikkim (depends upon weather) housing the highest post office in the world. A trip to Spiti Valley is incomplete without the excursion of picturesque Key (Ki or kye) monastery. The beauty of this architectural marvel can’t be described in words. You have to witness it with your own eyes. Don’t forget to visit Kibber, which is one of the highest motorable village in the world & Chicham Bridge, Asia’s highest motorable bridge. Night stay is scheduled at Kaza.
Chandrataal Lake or “Moon Lake” will be your next destination. One of the highest attraction of this lake is the fact that Chandrataal keeps on changing its color multiple times a day. Retire your day while camping on the banks of the lake under bright night sky. On a clear night, one can spot Milky Way as well.
It’s time to check out from camps and head back to Kalpa. On the way, halt at Kaza, Tabo & Nako. Have your lunch at Kalpa. Afterwards, you can have an optional trekking to Chakka & halt at suicide point. Seek the blessing of Narayan-Nagini Temple, built in Tibetan Pagoda style. Also, you can visit Hu-Bu-Lan-Kar Monastery as well. In the evening, enjoy the panoramic views of Kinner Kailash mountain range from the window of your hotel. Rest after having dinner.
On the last day of your trip, you’ll be driven back to Shimla which will take no more than 8 hrs to reach. Take back all the memories along with you from 8 days trip of Spiti Valley.
